The Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperatives, Shri Amit Shah, today interacted with probationers of the 2023 batch (76 RR) of the Indian Police Service (IPS) in New Delhi. During the interaction, trained IPS officers shared training-related experiences with the Union Home Minister. Union Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Director of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) were also present on the occasion.
During the interaction, the Union Home Minister and The Minister for Cooperatives said that in 2047, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vikasit Bharat will be a terror-free and drug-free country with internal security and it will ensure protection of human rights and rights of citizens. Shri Amit Shah said that trainee IPS officers should think about the time at which they have become IPS officers. He said the trainee officers should think as the batch which will emerge as IPS officers this time will have bigger responsibilities than the previous 75 batches. Mr Shah added that the trainee officers should think as it is entirely up to them and whether the batches coming after them will change the scale of our country and enter the next generation of police.

Shri Amit Shah said that today, through the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS), 99 percent of the police stations in the country have become online, online data has been generated and through three new laws, many provisions have been radically changed. The new law focuses on timely justice, increasing evidence of conviction and maximum use of technology. Since we have mandated scientific evidence, the prosecution need not produce multiple witnesses and now the guilt can be proved on the basis of scientific evidence.

Within five years, the new laws, including the establishment of technology, development and training of software, will be fully implemented in every police station of the country. After this, the process of justice will be completed within three years of the registration of the FIR. Mr Shah said there were irregularities in the new law.

The chargesheet has to be filed within 90 days and the search and seizure will have to be videographed. The national automated fingerprint identification system (NAFIS) has separately generated data related to terrorism and drugs. The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) is also handling all CCTNS data in a different way. The task of creating a data bank at the national level has been done with a lot of data. He said that now the Home Ministry team is also working to simplify your work by building software using artificial intelligence which will help in the analysis.

Keeping this in mind, they will avoid many disappointments in life. The biggest medal for any police officer posted as SP in his youth will be that the people of the district will remember him for his good work for many years to come. Shah said all young officers have to work with a “cruel approach” to eliminate anti-national activities.
