10 new Ayush institutes will be opened in the next five years: Union Ayush Minister.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Shri Prataprao Yadav visited the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) on Friday. Shri Prataprao Yadav visited the entire campus and reviewed the facilities and treatment being provided to the patients. Speaking at an event there, he said his government was committed to fulfilling the prime minister’s ambitious efforts to take Ayurveda to homes. The Minister further mentioned that Ayurveda and our traditional system of medicine suffered considerable damage during the colonial period and foreign invasions but today the perception towards Yoga and Ayurveda has undergone a worldwide change and its acceptance is growing rapidly. He announced that 10 new AYUSH institutes will be opened in the next five years to expand the traditional system of medicine and every citizen of India can benefit from it.

The minister announced that the President has expressed his willingness to visit the institute

While interacting with media persons, the minister announced that the President has expressed his willingness to visit the institute and as a minister he had come to review the preparations.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Tanuja Nesari, Director of the Institute expressed gratitude to the Minister and said that the Minister played an important role in promoting Ayurveda and his guidance and support would go a long way in taking Ayurveda to the masses and establishing it globally.

During the visit, Shri Prataprao Yadav visited the hospital premises and took part in many important works. The minister also inaugurated an auditorium built in memory of the then medical superintendent late Professor Sanjay Gupta, who died during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also released the booklet of ‘Aaroha-2024’, an international conference to be held from October 17 to 19.
