Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh planted a tree in honour of his mother today at Animal Quarantine and Certification Services (AQCS), Kapashera, New Delhi.

Secretary, Smt. Alka Upadhyaya, Additional Secretary, Ms. Varsha Joshi, Joint Secretary, Dr. Suparna Sharma Pachouri, Advisor(stat.), Shri Jagat Hazarika along with other senior officials of the Department participated the event.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh stressed on the need for collective efforts in the field of environment conservation. He said that tree plantation is a small task, but when millions of people multiply it, it can change our world. He urged everyone to participate in this noble cause and inspired others to join hands to make our planet green. He mentioned that all the institutions under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying will participate in a month-long campaign and plant 5 lakh trees

Smt. Upadhyaya highlighted the role of animal husbandry in supporting environmental sustainability. She said that sustainable animal husbandry practices would significantly reduce our ecological footprint and contribute to the health of our environment. She underscored the intricate connection between animal husbandry and environmental health. She also mentioned that, all the senior officers of the department will participate in the events organized in the subordinate offices, as part of the campaign.  read more
