Using its telecom diplomacy, the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, is establishing strategic international partnerships and collaborations to build a global telecom ecosystem to enhance global connectivity and position India as a global leader in digital innovation and infrastructure.

 

In yet another step towards redefining the future of global communication

In yet another step towards redefining the future of global communication, the India 6G Alliance recently signed a MoU) with the 6G Smart Network and Service Industry Association (6GIA) and 6G flagship Olu University. This is in the order of an earlier concluded MoU with the US-based Nextgee Alliance. The MoU with 6GIA and Oulu University will include development of secure and reliable telecommunication technologies as well as supportive supply chains. India is evaluating 470 proposals on accelerated research on DoT 6G under the 6G vision.

This strategic partnership is an important step towards achieving India’s vision of empowering societies through sustainable and advanced telecommunications and is contributing to the global 6G ecosystem.

The MoU will provide India with this opportunity:

Connect the European Union and Indian R&D companies, educational institutions and research institutions,

Organize research and development efforts in 6G and related technologies,

Promoting joint research initiatives,

Pilot management of 6G technology and use cases,

Cooperate in 6G technology development and contribute to standardization efforts on global platforms.

The Bharat 6G Alliance is an initiative of the Indian Industry

The Bharat 6G Alliance is an initiative of the Indian Industry, Educational Institutions, National Research Institutes and Standards Organization. Its objective is to design, develop and deploy technology and innovation in collaboration with the Government’s Bharat 6G Mission that provides an intelligent and safe solution to the high quality of living experience of citizens of India and around the world. India 6G Vision Manifesto was released last year, which aims to make India a leading supplier of advanced telecom technology in line with the objective of Vickyt Bharat.

.The Association of 6G Smart Networks and Services Industries (6G-IA) is the voice of European industry and research for the next generation of networks and services. 6G-IA undertakes extensive activities in strategic areas, including standardization, frequency spectrum, R&D projects, technology, cooperation with key advanced industrial sectors, especially development of tests, and international cooperation.

The 6G flagship programme is a world-leading research initiative funded by The University of Oulu and the Research Council of Finland. It aims to develop key 6G technology components, establish a comprehensive 6G test centre, and accelerate the social digitization of the 2030s through 6G research and innovation. read more
