Sports Department: Successful completion of special campaign 4.0
In collaboration with institutions under it, including sports authority of India (SAI), Laxmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LIPE), National Sports University (NSU), National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) and National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL), the Sports Department has made significant contributions to the special campaign 4.0 organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG). Organised in October 2024, the campaign was aimed at incorporating the sanitation policy into the department’s policy and resolving the long-standing impasse. The sports department started this initiative with the launch of Fit India Cleanliness Independence Race 5.0 at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium on October 2, 2024

During the campaign, the department responded to questions from 15 pending members of parliament, addressed 30 public grievances and fulfilled two parliamentary commitments under the active supervision of senior officials of the department. This dedicated oversight ensured that the objectives were met with both efficiency and effectiveness.
The campaign also focused on physical and digital file management. Accordingly, 210 physical files were thoroughly reviewed and subsequently 120 files were taken out. Apart from this, a review of 220 e-files has been completed in this campaign, which has made significant progress in managing digital records. The cleanliness drive was carried out at 44 identified locations in the field offices and headquarters of institutions under this department. This joint effort resulted in the restoration of 12,000 square feet of land and many newly available areas became valuable useful places. Apart from this, Rs 1,76 was recovered from scrap disposal during the drive. Through the above initiatives, the Sports Department has not only reinforced the values of transparency but has also set an example of practical, efficient governance.
