Shri Manohar Lal, Minister of State for Power & Housing and Urban Affairs inaugurated the National Feeder Monitoring System (NFMS) Control Centre today on the occasion of the 55th Foundation Day of REC Limited at rec headquarters in Gurugram in the presence of Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yeso Nayak.

Shri Vivek Kumar Devangan, CMD, REC and key officials of Ministry of Power, REC Limited and RECPDCL were present on the occasion.

The NFMS, a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Power, will provide detailed information on real-time hours, power outages and overall health of power supply of 2.5 lakh feeders (11 KV outgoing) across the country. This arrangement will enable stakeholders to make informed and actionable decisions, thereby bringing transparency, efficiency and accountability towards distribution utilities (discoms), ultimately improving the quality and reliability of power supply for end users. The project involves integration of master and transaction data with 87 discoms. In the scope of the programme, a dedicated control centre has been set up at the REC corporate office in Gurugram to monitor and disseminate data to daily discoms on a day-to-day basis to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the data displayed on the NFMS portal and help them improve and maintain the required KPI as decided by the ministry

This system has emerged as a testament to our commitment to improve power distribution and management across the country. I believe that this step will not only enhance the efficiency of our power grid but also ensure more reliable and uninterrupted power supply for our citizens. Let us all come together to light up every house and empower every citizen in the light of progress and development.

The control centre will monitor and analyse real time data from multiple sources and maintain data sanctity on the NFMS portal. It will collect, process and display information related to operations using state-of-the-art technology and software, collaborating closely with key stakeholders.

RECPDCL, a subsidiary of REC Limited, has developed NFMS to monitor the quality and reliability of energy at the national level with the overall objective of achieving 24-hour continuous power supply.

Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal also joined the #एक_पेड़_मां_के_नाम (#onePlant4Mother) campaign by planting trees at the REC office in Gurugram. read more
