NMDC Steel Limited (NSL) proudly announced a historic success in its production capacity. Today, four days before the first anniversary of the commencement of production of this state-of-the-art, state-of-the-art plant HR coil, the production of 1 million tonnes (MNT) hot roll coil (HRC) has successfully reached this milestone. This achievement marks NSL’s position as one of the fastest and most efficient plants in the industry, known by its remarkable spirit, performance and cutting-edge technology.

This significant success depends on NSL’s previous success in 2024. On July 21, 2024, the company achieved production of 1.5 million tonnes of hot metal from its blast furnace and on August 11, 2024, it produced 1 MT of liquid steel from steel making shops (SMSs). Both reached milestones less than a year after production began, setting new benchmarks for performance in the industry.
These achievements highlight NSL’s commitment to managerial excellence and innovation. The company continues to cross the line with a desire to become a leader in the field of steel production with sole focus on efficiency, sustainability and technological advancement.
Built at an investment of Rs 22,900 crore, the state-of-the-art 3 MTPA steel plant is one of india’s largest hot strip mills capable of operating HR coils ranging from 900 mm to 1,650 mm wide at 1 mm to 16 mm thickness.
