NHRC, India announces winner of its online human rights photography competition, 2024

Of the six winners, one is for the third prize and the consolation prize is Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively.

The month-long competition, which was held on 10 human rights-related themes, received 642 valid entries on myGov and NHRC websites

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), in association with IndiaMyGov, has declared the results of its online human rights photography competition-2024. The full commission jury, comprising the acting chairman, the secretary general, the head of the department and an external expert, did not find any photograph suitable for the first and second awards after due deliberation. However, one photo was selected for the third prize of Rs 5,0/- and five for the consolation prize of Rs 2,0/- each

The NHRC has received a total of 642 valid entries, including entries received through Bharat MyGov (471) and its website (171). It was selected by three sub-committees comprising senior officials of the commission and external experts to consider the full commission jury to select the winners by looking at 20 photographs

The Commission conducted the online competition from June 7 to July 7, 2024,

The Commission conducted the online competition from June 7 to July 7, 2024, inviting entries on 10 themes related to various human rights aspects, including socio-economic, cultural and political rights and sensitivities, through the NHRC website and myGov portal.

The purpose of this contest was to capture the visual sense of the human rights situation associated with this theme that could arouse people’s imagination to act for the betterment of rights consciousness, positivity in adversity, and society. read more
