How to protect yourself from Saturn?
Introduction how to protect yourself from Saturn?
The modern-day man and the man who follows the scientific judgment or the spiritual path may have different lifestyles when it comes to food, drink, movement, and speech. However, despite these differences, we are all Indians. Our culture, food, drink, clothing, dress, and thoughts may vary, but our common identity as Indians unites us. The concept of unity in diversity is the main goal and mantra of our country.
The Influence of Planets Saturn
As inhabitants and caretakers of this planet, we are affected by the influence of the celestial bodies. The Deva planet Jupiter and its sub-planets, Budha, Venus, Earth, Mars, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu, all have their effects on us. In this blog post, we will focus on how to protect ourselves from the evil effects of Saturn.
The Story of Shani and Lakshmi
Allow us to explain this through a beautiful story. Once upon a time, there was a conflict between Shani and Lakshmi in heaven. Shani, the son of the Sun, approached Lakshmi Mata in Baikuntha and questioned her, “Sister, why is it that everyone worships you and not me? I am older than you, so shouldn’t people worship me instead?”
Lakshmi replied, “I am the mother of this world. How can you claim to be bigger than me?” Their argument escalated, and even the gods in heaven were afraid. Unable to settle their quarrel, they sought the help of the righteous King Vikramaditya on Earth.
King Vikramaditya, concerned about the situation, consulted Navratna Pandit for advice. Together, they devised a solution. They asked Shani and Lakshmi to sit on two thrones while Vikramaditya observed the proceedings. The king suggested that based on the throne they occupied, they could determine who was greater and who was younger.
Shani Dev sat on a silver throne, while Goddess Lakshmi sat on a gold throne. From this, it was evident that Lakshmi was greater in stature and Shani was younger. However, the events that followed were unforeseen. Shani became angry and left. One day, when Vikramaditya neglected to wash his feet before a meal, the sun’s rays entered his legs, weakening his body.
Bad feelings arose in the king’s mind, and he ended up gambling away the entire treasury. The people of the kingdom were also unhappy. Eventually, Shani entered the form of a dragon and rendered the king immobile. In the end, Shani Dev threw him into the river.
Reflecting on the situation, Shani Dev realized that if he did not torment the king, the king would not recognize his true power. Vikramaditya, understanding Shani’s intentions, praised Shani Dev. However, Shani was not pleased and threw the king into the flowing river. At this point, Vikramaditya prayed to Goddess Lakshmi for his soul.
He said, “O Goddess, you are my mother on Earth, and you are the queen of Vishnu. Please help me survive.” As soon as he uttered the name of Mahalakshmi, all his ailments disappeared. As the influence of Shani diminished, the king sat by the riverbank, and his body recovered.
Protecting Yourself from Shani Graha’s Influence
So, how can we protect ourselves from the malefic effects of Shani Graha (Saturn)? The key is to always remember and invoke Mata Lakshmi. Keep her in your heart with integrity and righteousness. By doing so, Shani Dev cannot harm you. Always remember Lakshmi Maa and recite the mantra: “Om Maha Lakshmi Vidmahe Vishnu Priya Dhimhi Tannu Lakshmi Prachodayat.”
By maintaining a connection with the divine and embodying the qualities of Lakshmi, we can shield ourselves from the negative influences of Saturn. Let us embrace unity in diversity and strive to live harmoniously, respecting each other’s differences while celebrating our shared identity as Indians.
