In the 44th meeting of the Food Authority chaired by Shri Apoorva Chandra, Chairman, FSSAI, it was decided to approve amendments to the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Performance) Rules, 2020 regarding the labelling of nutritional information. The purpose of the amendment is to empower consumers to better understand the nutritional value of the products they consume and make healthy decisions.

The draft notification for this amendment will now be made public and suggestions and objections will be invited
