DRDO successfully test-fires Su-30 Mk-1 to Rudram-II air-to-surface missile off Odisha coast.

On May 29, 2024, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully test-fired the Rudram-II air-to-surface missile from the Su-30 Mk-1 platform of the Indian Air Force at around 11.30 am. The flight-test served all the test objectives, validating the propulsion system and control and guidance algorithms. Rudram-II is an indigenously developed hard-powered missile

Rudram-II is an indigenously developed hard-powered missile system meant for an air-to-surface role in neutralizing many types of enemy assets. Many advanced indigenous technologies developed by various laboratories of DRDO have been incorporated in this missile system.

Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, Air Force and industry for the successful test-firing of Rudram-II. The successful test strengthened the role of the Rudram-II system as a strength multiplier for the armed forces, he said.
