jatinnews.com May 10, 2024 0DRDO – Defence Research & Development Organisation celebrated the 8th Technology Council Meeting in New Delhi on May 9 of 2024. The meeting is a discussion on the progress made so far in the processes of DRDO technologies’ induction into NDRF, CAPFs and Police that is done under the purview of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Some DRDO laboratories attended the event online. This was an effort to ensure that everyone involved played a part in the process of designing strategic defence. The meeting was interactive with full participation and later was successful in compiling the journeys accomplished. Furthermore, it stipulated the sequence of activities that I will engage in during the next six months.
The presentation of various DRDO instruments like weapon systems, communications, internal security, VIP protect, sustenance etc. was also organised along with the meeting where the latest technologies across these domains were demonstrated.
DG (Production, Coordination and Services Interaction) Smt. Chandrika Kaushik, the Chairperson, was at the meeting to which were also invited the Inspectors-General of BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, NDRF, NSG, Assam Rifles, IB and Delhi Police. The advisor to MH A, Smt Harcharan Kaur also virtually joined the discussion. Shri Sangita Rao
Director, the Directorate of Low Intensity Conflicts (DLIC), Ms. Achary Addanki welcomed the forum. DLIC is the nodal hub (not troupe) for the similar purpose.
DRDO as a lead research institute has the responsibility to develop critical technologies for the Defence Services and removing any possible reliance on foreign countries. The modernisation of CAPF & PF Central as well as state police forces under MHA was achieved by signing MoU between DRDO and MHA in 2012 so that DRDO developed technologies would be incorporated with these forces.
The report contains information about the Technology Council Meeting, DRDO, and the date of the organizing of the meeting, which was May 09th, 2024, in New Delhi. The initial goal of the meeting was to monitor the efficiency of DRDO technologies, including the CAPFs, the Police, and the NDRF (MHA), which is under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The meeting that took place, encompassed DRDO laboratories from all over the country where they conducted over virtual means. The event involved collaborative participation and fruitful exchange of ideas, which eventually culminated in a rigorous assessment of milestones, and the formation of a schedule that elapses six months, meant to announce the next efforts.
One of the important feature of the fair was the exhibition arraying a basketful of indigenously developed DRDO products. The organization offered products in a wide variety of domains including Weapon Systems, Communications, Internal Security, VIP Security, and Sustainability where the specializations in technology and innovation are readily evident.
The meeting was presided by Smt. DSP (Production, Coordination & Interaction of services) as its chairperson. Chandrika Kaushik,the woman who was told that Mr. Modi would be meeting her, saw that the officials were of the high-ranking including the IGs of BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, NDRF, NSG, Assam Rifles, IB, and Delhi Police. Additionally, Advisor, MHA Smt. Harcharan Kaur’s presence provided a crucial element of the trial. It was bound by Mrs Sangita Rao, DLIC Directorate, the coordinating body of acts and instructions related with such initiatives.
Having established itself as the pioneer organization in the country devoted to finding innovative and cutting-edge technologies for defense, the DRDO now keeps its goal of gaining self-reliance in defense capabilities. Thus mission is of paramount importance, and in this aspect, DRDO and MHA signed an MoU in 2012 for the easy use of DRDO developed products by Central Paramilitary and Police forces under MHA as well as State police forces also.
