90 ministries and departments to participate in national workshop on effective resolution of pension complaints

The Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare is making efforts for a more sensitive, affordable and meaningful grievance redressal system

The Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare is observing the National Good Governance Week 2024 from December 19 to 24. The department will undertake various citizen-centric programmes this week.

As part of this, a national workshop on effective resolution of pension grievances is being organised on December 19, 2024. Senior officials from 90 ministries and departments participated in the workshop to find ways to make the grievance redressal process more sensitive, affordable and meaningful.

Dr. Shankari Murali, Additional CGA, Ministry of Finance, Roshni Sohni, DDG, Department of Telecommunications, Smt. Malli Sengupta, JT CGDA, Ministry of Defence, Shri Ratnesh Kumar Jha, EDPG, Ministry of Railways and Shri Rajesh Kumar, Director, Department of Posts will share their experiences, including best practices in the field of grievance redressal.

The DOPPW provides the Centralised Pension Grievance and Response System (CPNAGram), an online platform for filing pension complaints. This portal is available through URL-https://pgportal.gov.in/ Penson/ and mobile applications such as the My Grievances App. In addition, complaints can be registered through the toll-free number 1800-11-1960.

This year, various citizen-centric initiatives have been taken by the department. Sms have been sent to over 35 lakh central civil pensioners to make them aware about CPNGrams as a step towards bridging the digital divide. The record of active coordination with major stakeholders has ensured resolution of one lakh pension complaints. The department has analysed the views of the applicants regarding the quality of the solution. On that basis, comprehensive guidelines have been issued adopting a ‘complete government approach’ with proper redressal of grievances. Also, ministries/departments have been advised to address the grievances of pensioners. read more
