Calling for feedback on the draft Commercial Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2024

In order to ensure speedy, effective and fair disposal of commercial cases, the Government enacted the Commercial Courts Act, 2015, and further amended in 2018. After this, the Government of India has taken various steps in both legal and policy areas to strengthen the dispute settlement system in the country. The Department of Legal Affairs is now considering further amendments to the Commercial Courts Act, 2015.

The purpose and purpose of the proposed amendment is to simplify the applicable procedures relating to speedy and exclusive adjudication of commercial disputes and settlement of commercial disputes in courts.

In view of this, a tabular statement has been prepared referring to the Commercial Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2024 and the existing provisions and proposed amendments.

The department invites public opinion/opinion as part of the public consultation exercise on draft revision. The draft bill and tabular statements can be accessed in https://legalaffairs.gov.in/.
