The Prime Minister of Bangladesh, H.E. Sheikh Hasina called on the President of India, Smt. Draupadi Murmu, today (June 22, 2024) at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The President said he was happy to meet her again a few days
Welcoming Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the President said he was happy to meet her again a few days after the swearing-in ceremony of the new government. He said that these regular discussions reflect the enduring spirit of friendship and cooperation that began with the journey of Bangladesh’s liberation struggle of 1971.
The President was happy to note that Bangladesh has made remarkable economic progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The President noted that India and Bangladesh are moving fast to strengthen their cooperation in various fields and are also venturing into new areas. He expressed confidence that this will determine the future direction of India-Bangladesh relations.
The two leaders agreed to work together to enhance ties in all areas including economic ties
During a warm and cordial interaction, the two leaders agreed to work together to enhance ties in all areas including economic ties, development partnership, defence cooperation, energy security and connectivity.
This will be India’s first visit to the state after the formation of the new government on June 9, 2024. read more
