Established as an enterprise of the Department of Posts, India Post Payments Bank has established many new dimensions in its six-year journey by promoting ‘Aapka Bank, Aapke Dwar’. Today, it has an important role to play in the field of financial inclusion and Digital India in rural areas. Various welfare schemes of the central and state governments are easily reaching the last mile of the society. Shrikrishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General, North Gujarat region of Ahmedabad, made the above statement at an event held at Ahmedabad GPO on the occasion of the 7th Foundation Day of India Post Payments Bank. On this occasion, Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav, Independent Director of IPPB Jayashree Brijlal Doshi, IPPB AGM Dr Rajiv Awasthi, Chief Manager Kapil Mantri, Chief Postmaster Ritul Gandhi inaugurated the program by cutting a cake. He felicitated the officials for their outstanding performance in IPPB. IPPB launched nationwide.

Postmaster General Srikrishna Kumar Yadav said the IPPB has revamped the banking sector by making paperless, cashless and currently unpaved banking facilities available at home even in remote areas. IpPB’s target market segment, being the most financially disadvantaged and vulnerable section of society, has enabled banking through costly innovations and simple and easy user interfaces on the bank last mile. 44% of IPPB’s customers are women, reflecting its crucial role in women’s empowerment.

Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav said postmen and gramin dak sevaks are functioning as a mobile bank through IPPB.

Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav said postmen and gramin dak sevaks are functioning as a mobile bank through IPPB. IPPB provides door-to-door services through postmen such as Aadhaar enrolment of children up to 5 years and updation of mobiles through CELC services, digital life certificates, DBT, Aadhaar enabled payment system, bill payment, vehicle insurance, health insurance, accident insurance, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana etc. If someone has an IPPB account, then the post officer can also deposit online in Sukanya, RD, PPF, Postal Life Insurance. Mr Yadav said the IPPB is committed to improving the lives of those who do not have easy access to insurance and other financial services. read more
